I have recently inherited a 2000 Sea Doo Challenger 1800 from my son. The boat has a 2006 Mercruiser V6 engine. It is very hard to start cold. No problem starting it after the initial start. I have read that it is equipped with an “enricher” and have located it on the carburetor. Can any of you give me guidance as to how I can check to see if it is working? Thanks in advance. I am new to the forum.

don't know. Since it's not a Seadoo... I'm not sure what engine you have. Most MerCuiser engines are just rebadged car engines. Seadoo used Sportjet engines, and they are 2-stroke "Outboard" power heads.

Thanks for the quick reply. This is my first exposure to a Sea Doo so I am not sure what the norm is for the engine. This engine is a 210 HP V6 mercruiser. From my research, I believe it is the common engine for this boat. Thanks again.

OK... so the boat in question is a Seadoo? I just see a Tahiti in your list of water craft and no Seadoo. I'll help you regardless... just need to know what we are working on. The Mercruser threw me, since those are the IO drives.

But if it's a 210 Sportjet... then yes... there is an enricher.

So... there is a button on it. You can do a manual opening of the valve, and see if that helps. But you can just put 12v on it to open it too. SO... with 12v, it should flow fuel... as long as there is fuel at the carbs.
