Carbon seal damaged during pump rebuild?

I had the pump rebuilt on my 2018 GTI 155 at a certified Seadoo service. When I got it back it took on water immediately. It has never leaked before. My neighbor thinks that they may have broken the carbon seal while servicing the pump. Is that even possible??

Took on water from where? You might want to back the ski down the boat ramp, pull the seat; start the engine, use a flashlight, and determine where the water is coming in. If the water is coming in from the carbon seal, I'd take it back to the shop where you had the work performed and ask them what happened.

When the jet pump is out, the drive shaft is loose and it should be supported. Sure it possible; all some had to do was start the ski with the jet pump out; that would trash things quickly.
