I dont know if this is the carb acting up or something else. I have a 94xp It has been doing fine. The last few times I have taken it out I noticed at wot top speed it acts like it wanted to cut out. The more I rode it the worse it got .
The last time I had it out it would get to speed and try to shut down, pedal the throttle and it would come back , but not before it was coasting to a stop.

too much fuel

So I took apart the carbs carefully, but now I am getting way too much fuel. What did I do wrong?

2 identical skis same thing ..way too much fuel

I guess it like being clogged up better

You may have bent the tab just alitle bit on the lever that opens the inlet needle and now it is flooding. The lever or [tab] should be flush with the carb if I am not mistaken. just guessing so good luck.

One possibility is that as your fuel mixture had been richened up (from the carbs getting progressively dirty they will lean out). Maybe during last service or something. Now that you are flowing cleanly, that setting is too rich and it needs to be reset to factory position.

Check that the low speed adjuster and high speed adjuster screws are set correctly. Locations here:

ummm

Yeah this may sound dumb of me ..I did try to even all those up i didnt think the diaphram was going to open it . That was my first thought too . I hope thats what it is.

the only reason I adjusted is one looked taller than the other when screw was tight.

Thank you

I feel like a jackass now.
I pulled them off adjusted back the teeter even and wala im back in business for now.

I am sure I will be back for all of your knowledge. If it can break I can break it . I hope the one (the reason I started this post) runs right now.
It has been nothing but problems. It only ran when you held the trim or starter button . now it would run wide open for two seconds and bog then come in and bog never held wot. So being the reason I cleaned the carbs I guess we shall see.

The tach on that particular ski dies when reved at all . any ideas?
It makes me wonder if stater maybe going on it ?
