hello.
i have a 98 seadoo challenger 1800. My right carbs were not closing. I thought i had a bad cable. got a cable, installed it, same problem.
The throttles on the left engine spring back when i open them manually. The throttles.on my right engine will not spring back.

What am I missing?

Sounds like atleast one of your return springs on the carbonator butterfly shaft is broke or off the cam. Could also be happening if your oil pump cable isn't returning due to the spring on it. Look on the bottom of the carb you can just see the spring in the attached picture. Also check your oil pump cable for freying.

thanks for the info. i took all the cables off the carbs, and it still would not spring close. i then unhooked the linkage between the 2 carbs. the front carb is the one that is sticking. I cleaned the carb, it is now working good. it must have got a bit of crap on the shaft or something. Thanks for youe help.
