Cant get jet pump off Help!!!

I am trying to replace the pump and driveshaft on my 96 spi but i cant get the darn pump off. i got the four nuts off the back but that thing is super stuck on there I was wondering if anyone knows some secret trick to get it off or do i just need to pull like hell. really i am just afraid to pull to hard and brake something i didnt know about. on the spx the rideplate has a metal ring that wraps around the pump and drive shaft so i cant pry on it from under it and i am about to resort to putting some hooks on the pump and pulling at it with my truck. so if anyone has some ideas i would greatly appriciate it thanks.
also it was used in salt water so there is probally some salt build up in there thats holding it in also.

I put heat to it where the pump meets the ride plate, heating only the pump, use a heat gun or small torch, also there is a sticky in here somewhere of a tool you can make with a 2x4 to pull it off

I always forget to pull the bailer tubes off before i start yanking, and they get bound on the way out.

Be sure all tubes and lines are removed inside the hull.

can you see what adhesive is being used? What color and is it pliable or hard?

Sometimes, the seal can be stubborn. If the pump was removed and silicone used to re-seal it, it's going to be really stuck.

If you look at the sides, there should be small, open spaces. These are designed to put a piece of metal into, like a screwdriver and spilt the pump from the hole. They are not pry spaces but spaces where you can use the screwdrivers as a wedge.

Your idea of hooking the truck up to it isn't a bad idea. But, instead of pulling with the truck, I use a come-a-long to put tension on it, thats controlled. Then, you can grab and wiggle back and forth.

It's also possible that your shaft is holding it down. If the shaft spines were not greased regularly, then you could have a time getting it to break loose.:cheers:
