Hi guys,

I have just moved from Queensland, Australia to Victoria, Australia, and have brought my 2004 RXP with me.
Problem is in Queensland it is legal to tow a skier behind a 2 seater, in Victoria they require it to be a 3 seater.
Rather than sell my excellent RXP and buy a wake or RXT (no money after Christmas) I was wondering exactly what differentiates a 2 and 3 seater. If it is ballast, can I add foam bouyancy? If it is just the seat, can I get another seat made?
Can anyone help?

Thanks

The difference in a 2 and 3 seater is length. The 3 seater is longer and this gives you the extra seat for the third passenger.

Differences?....

Like Mirage says, the biggest difference is in the length and weight of the ski.

When you mention ballast?..... It's not used to bouy the craft. Ballast in the Wake models is set up to lower the ski/boat into the water to displace more water. When you do this, it creates a bigger wake for the one being towed to play in. So, adding "foam" doesn't do anything for ballast.

You may want to check the reason for the law. I had heard from some one a ways back that the reason for the three seater law(while pulling a skier) was so you have room for a pass to watch and enough room to get a skier/boarder to the shore if they get hurt.

Correct. Same law here in New Zealand. (New Zealand is NOT a state of Australia )
