Just curious can rave valves bend? I just cleaned my 96 XP and put everything back together and took it out for the weekend with rebuilt carbs.
It flew but towards the end of the trip it was having difficulting starting and was losing alot of power in the low end and would not go to WOT and felt like it was running on 1 carb. When it finally did kick in hold onto your shorts!

Got it home and noticed the free movement was no longer in the rave valve like it was when I rebuilt the assembly. They were stuck closed with maybe a 1/4" of movement up & down.

Here are some known factors:
Rebuilt carbs with parts from seadoosource (dominic)
Running synthetic seadoo oil
when I looked at the rave valves they seemed like I had never cleaned them (pretty gummy)
Also replaced grey fuel lines.

Any ideas?
Curious... do the valves create a memory and maybe the one does not fit the other side and vise versa when putting it back together?

Clean em up again and see if they work.

That gummy oily residue can make them stick and not slide around like they are supposed to.

I doubt they are bent. Those are pretty hard pieces of steel.

Will do...
Just ordered all new parts from seadoosource (except valves).
Will wait until the parts come in and rebuild them again.
Should I try to clean the internal part of the port or just clean the valve and stick it back in?

Should I try to lube it before I put it back in?
