I have a 97 GS that I am hoping to change the color from the current bright violet. Does anyone know if this can be painted (without looking like crap)? The hood is grainy plastic with a smooth plastic gauge cover. I would also be doing the handlebar cushion. Any other ideas? Would be nice if it were fiberglass or other smooth surface that would take a stick on graphic. Thanks.

yeah you can paint plastic; either get that krylon spray paint for plastic or first spray an adheasion primer and then spray paint

Scuff, scuff scuff.

Local auto paint supply will have Bulldog Adhesion Promoter. Get some.

Some carry Rm Diamont (BASF) They have great products in a can. Nice primer, and Clear.

Some shops can even get you the color you want put in a can. In my town, the store has a sister store over the hill that can have any color put in a can and back to me in a day. Pretty cool for small projects, like plastic parts.

Hope all goes well

Thanks for the info. I'm going to check out what is available locally and go from there. Probably going to replace the seat cover with a new one from Hydro-turf or Jettrim and update the color scheme. Anyone used either of these before?
