Dealer says yes, and he has a PN 293 600122 SynthBlend oil he says to use.

Ive read that I dont want syth anything in it if it has the ceramic SC washers (not sure if 05 does but I would guess yes).

Or should I just be safe and run the mineral oil in the manual suggests?

Thx

From the pages of Seadoo

This is the new oil from Sea Doo and is recommended for all supercharged and non supercharged engines. Yes the 05 would have ceramic washers. I have an 07 and will be switching to hardened titanium this winter/spring. I have seen too many pictures of broken washers. It is probably best to continue using what you have used. Not sure if using the Blend after years of mineral oil is bad, perhaps others will give some advice on that.

i would first replace those washers, like right now!
the time and money it will take will seem like a drop in the hat compared to if the washers fail and trash your motor
i've done several, and its not pretty
as for oil, i would use standard oil untill those washers get replaced
mud
p.s
got them washers yet?

Washer replacemet

Is there a step by step or anything on the board about how to replace the washers? The SC units look like they would be easy to drop off the back of the engines?

Thx

There is

It will be said to join as a premium member, where you can download a manual that details how to. There is an 07 RXP manual here, the one I downloaded, and it will do you wonders. Washers run 70-100 $ a set, you can buy a toolset w/washers for about 120.00 on line. BRP recommends a SC rebuild every 100 hours, funny my 07 manual states every 200. The skis are more prone to failure because they load/unload more often stressing the SC. The total rebuild kit with washers is 300+- dollars. There is a site on the net, this gentleman will replace washers for 50$ labor or rebuild for 75$ labor, you pay parts and shipping. My local SEADOO dealer quoted me 300.00 for a rebuild kit ( good price ) and 350.00 in labor (yikes) I can order a new SC delivered for 650.00 and install myself. There are a lot of rebuild threads out there, not too hard if you feel you are up to the task.
