Can anyone tell me what this little rubber gasket/sleeve goes to on the rear of my XP

First off thanks for Minnetonka4me for hooking me up with the parts I needed for my 99 XP Limited project. When I purchased it the previous buyer had started to install a new wear ring but never finished it and lost the rear trim and steering components on the back outside of the the ski. Minnetonka4me hooked me up with everything I needed to get the VTS and steering hooked up. One question though. This funny looking rubber looking sleeve came with the stuff but I can't figure out where it goes. I figure it's either for the VTS or the steering on the back outside of the hull but in all the diagrams I have looked at I can't find it.
Does anyone know what this little booger is for. I laid it next to a tie rod end to give it some scale. Thanks gang!

Looks like the Black Piece the Rubber Boot clamps to. You have one at the Hull and one on the end of the rod that moves the Nozzle up and down. Not sure which one that is in the picture. But the one at the Hull is bigger round than the on the rod.

Look at the bottom of the drawing part #71 Large boot for your steering cable. Make sure you have the small one too #74

LOL, Actually, I put the pump spacer on and rtv'd the bailer fittings etc and put a neo seal on and needed a pump to bolt on and "squish" it all together. We're getting somewhere though.........................
