I'd like to put a battery quick disconnect on my 1995 speedster but I'm not sure if I can because of the connection between the two batteries. Any suggestions for the best way to do it if it's possible?

I'm switching to Odyssey PC625 batteries since they have a post, which should make it a little easier on my back to unhook them and take them out but was hoping I could make it even easier on myself.

Also any idea what gauge wire the cables are?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you are going to run 2 batteries... then run 2 switch's. OR... use a 1/2/both switch, and keep the charging systems separate.

Unfortunately... I don't know the gauge off the top of my head.

4 gauge is sufficient, but if space allows - the easiest install is one of these mounted on each battery - no additional wiring required.

You can get a high quality brass unit from an RV store.

Thank you both, but I was thinking about putting quick disconnect connectors on the wires so I could take them apart and remove the batteries for charging without having to taking the wires on and off of the batteries each time in the tight space.

But now that you mentioned the switches, if I install them and disconnect at the switch can I safely put a charger on and not worry about damaging the mpem?

Yes and If installed on the positive post, you can use any clean connection (hardware) on the engine for the charger ground.
