Hey all I'm rebuilding the upper end of my 787's and the motor that was rebuilt has gaged bearings...when I took the other one apart (stock) they was not caged is this the norm or did I miss something falling out when i removed both wrist pins???
Thanks so much!!

Caged or not caged is OK. Rotax uses the noncaged stock, but they are a bitch to get back in without an insert tool. I would not worry about it just use the caged bearing that came in the kit or buy a new caged set.

When you buy them new they come with a plastic "holder/insertion tool" that when used in conjunction with the correct diameter socket allows for simple removals and re-installations. I would not reuse old ones.

Yes that is much easier. I was just letting blongo know that new ones come with the insertion tool, but it's not the legit seadoo insertion tool. That was all.
