C180 transducer routing

I have seen a couple members on here that have installed transducers in the ski locker. Just wondering if you guys found a way to sneak the cable up to the console or did you have to drill holes from the ski locker?

On my C180 I took the starboard rear storage bin out and place the transducer in some plumbers putty on the level surface beside the fuel tank ran the wires up to the console no drilling required. Mines a 2006 so I removed the stock stereo remote and place the digital depth finder there fits like a glove. I'll try and take a few pics and post them I never had an issue with it reading water depth at any speed

Good to know, my original thought was to install it in the rear but when I saw several threads about doing it in the rod locker I started to think that maybe the intake/engine caused interference.
