98 sportster 1800.... Not sure if this matters or not but I do not want them to fly off......the c clips on my drive line that keep the carbon seal in place are still shown.. The floating ring didn't go back over them just up against them... Does this matter? I have been trying to tap them back but not moving...

Thanks...

Do you have on two c clips?
It's only one.
The first arrow is the C clip and the 2nd arrow is the SS ring that should hide C clip went seated.
Did you have it apart??

Do hit on it it may bend and ruin SS ring

Yea I only have one but was saying clips because I have to motors... Yes I had it a part....just rebuilt them..

If clip is pressed onto driveshaft and SS isn't sliding over, once you start engine it should push itself over it.
Was engine taken out to need re alignment?

Just make sure when you back it in the water before pushing off trailer look for water pouring in jik and make sure bilges works.
Throw up a pic if you want to be sure.

Engine was left in but I still aligned it... The SS is just about a eighth inch over the clip... Sorry I'm not home for a pic...I don't think it would fly off but never know

Yup, I think you'll be fine. C clip keeps collar from pushing foreword

Ok I got this message recorded...if I sink you'll be hearing from my lawyer....... J/p...lol....it was leaking and bellow was loose so I just pushed it forward and moved c clip to next spot..

Thanks

Just incase I have a spare c clip that I'm gonna put in the old spot incase that flys off..... At least the SS ring would hit that instead of nothing.
