Brother in law borrowed my GTR 215. Put one of the drain plugs in the flush port.

He rode about two hours on it like this. I noticed it this morning. Of course, all the water had drained out of the bilge and when I washed it, the flush went as usual and there wasn't any signs of a high level of water having been in the bilge area.

Could this have caused any damage? I'm going to go ride it tomorrow to make sure. My brother in law said when he was coming back to the dock, he was doing 65 right up to the no wake zone.

I think you will be ok. I believe that that port is not a forced port. Meaning, that if plugged the water would go out the main exhaust exit. It is more of a port to let know the water is circulating within the system.

Thanks for the answer. I was quite worried about it!! Will still water test tomorrow. Before I flushed it, I sprayed water into the jet outlet and a wad of pine needles fell out of the intake grate. I've had this happen before, so I'm not really worried about it and the impeller looked fine.

The pine needles are likely more of an issue than the plugged port was. The cooling water for the InterCooler and exhaust come from the pump,,, Needles could have been pushed into the supply hose...

I would FLUSH the engine before you go for the test ride tomorrow..

I seriously doubt you will have any issues, but you want to be safe as compared to sorry,,,
