Broken throttle cable

a new throttle cable for my friends 2001 GTX 951 Carburetor. The oil cable broke as we were working on the machine. He wanted to disable the injector anyway and go premix. The existing cable will not allow full return on the throttle without it being hooked to the oil injection pump. I was wondering if I could get away with replacing the cable with a single throttle cable? Also, what is the electrical connection for on the throttle cable?

It adjusts the timing at 80% throttle. You are much better off getting the correct cable and running oil injection.
