Broken tab on case for rotary valve cover

Kinda mad about this but I finally traced my hard starting issue to the clearance on my rotary valve/cover.

Long story short, one of the bolt holes on the case itself was stripped out so it was not tight at all- the cause for my valve clearance being too high.

I drilled it out and put in a helicoil as a repair but when I tightened it up to spec, the tab itself on the case snapped off. I couldn't believe it. What are my options to fix the tab on the case?

EDIT: this is a 95 Sportster 657X

That sucks. You could pull the engine and go have it welded. Bernz o matic makes a aluminum welding rod that you can use with map gas. That's a do it yourself thing. You might call a welder and see if they could do it at your place. I know there are mobile weld outfits out there. Which tab broke?

Weld it.

The aluminum brazing rod does work... but practice on some scrap first. It's not the easiest thing to do.
