Broken Bolts in Jet Unit

Hi Guys,
I have had my jetskis for about 3months. Its a GTI SE 155 2007 model with 130 hours.
So far very happy with them.
Today however, I was riding and heard a snap sound and then could not get above 30kph.
When I got home I noticed that there are two bolts that have broken / sheared off which hold the two parts of the jet unit together.
This was allowing water to escape out and thus reduced thrust.

Anyone heard of this before? Is it a common problem. I have no idea how i could have happened.

I will be ringing a mechanic tomorrow but wondering if any of you had heard of it before.

Nope... it's not a common problem. BUT... we here about newer skis have loose pump bolts all the time. If yours were loose... the stress of the pump moving around could have snapped them.

Either way... just remove the broken part, and put in some new bolts.

Thanks for the info Tony.

I will have to run a spanner over both of them to make sure all is tight.

cheers

Dave
