Bringing a 95 HX back to life.

Hi. I have a 95 HX with some issues. I am trying to replace the carbon seal. I removed the driveshaft and heard a clunk deep under the seat. What was that and how do I get to it? I have unusual wear on the old carbon ring. Does this suggest an alignment is needed? I can't seem to upload a photo.

There may be a middle seal carrier under the seat.,,,if water is not leaking at the carbon ring,,,just leave it,,,no need for an alignment.

That clunk was the midshaft and coupler falling into the hull.
