I would welcome proper break in procedures / suggenstion and feedback on how much a 10hr service should cost for the Challenger 230.

On my ski it was 158.00 - 1 motor non SuperCharged. I'd look to drop between 350 and 375 because you have 2 motors with super chargers.

If I remember correctly I was right around $218 for single SC motor. Figure somewhere around $450 range would be about right.

Ask First

If you have a reputable dealer, they will be able to give you a quote over the phone. I asked in advance for my 10 hour price and it was $50 higher when I picked it up. They said that the quote was for the labor, not parts. Buyer beware. It reminded me of that commercial on TV where one girls gets a toy pony and the other gets a real one, The Gipped girls said " I didn't know you could get a real pony" and the announcer said, "You didn't ask".

Now I always ask for the total price, parts and labor out the door. Mine was Just over $300 for the 10 hour service on an 08 Challenger 180 215 at my local dealer.

The break-in was worth it though as my Challenger really flys now. It is way too much fun!

10hr service

I just looked at my paper work and I only paid $243 for both engines on my 10hr service I guess there is one good thing about living in the midwest.

I could only wish for $243. I have 3 dealers relatively near by and it’s incredible that the range has been from $723 to $350 for the 10hr service. I spoke with a few local owners and the mid range estimate/dealer has a good reputation for service and I’m going with them.

Thank you all for the advice.

Speedster Break in 10 hr service

Curious, what are they actually doing during this service. 10 hours on a motor is nothing. In my case it two of the SC.

I'm giving some thought to having them upgrade the washers on the superchargers. I think they are still ceramic.

oil change, spark plugs, read computer

10 hour service -DONE

Well I took it in and got it done. Incredibly it was over $500. They swapped the plugs, changed the oil / filters and rana full report on the BUDS system. I was surprised the actual run time was only nine hours. They did clear a temp fault code.

Clean bill of health from the dealer and next time I'll see them (hopefully) is for the 50 hour service. Sounds like that is just an oil change.

Just paid...

$489 for my 230 Challenger's first 10 hr service. I did get them to re-deliver to marina, about an hour's round trip @ NO CHARGE. Now they want to sell me an extended warranty. How does $1800 sound for 3 years and $2100 for 4 years? Is it worth it?

The mechanic at my boat dealer told me that unless the boat seemed slow or I just wanted to bring it in then wait until the end of the season to bring and have the oil/spark plugs ( don't mention 10 hour service ), which is less BTW.

This is the 2nd SeaDoo boat and I've had a few jetski's over the years. So I trust them completely.
