hi friends. Just bought a 2005 Seadoo Sportster LE DI. Would love some ABC’s on starting up engine/going into the water/coming out of water. I have watched a lot of videos on launching but I am unclear as to how long I use blower fan before starting engine and if i am supposed to keep engine compartment open while blower fan is on? Also it has automatic bilge pump as well as manual. Do I ever need to operate pump manually? Thanks

On seadoo jetboats,,,there are super rarely any fumes,,,you can run the blowers for a couple seconds,,,cover can stay down,,,inorder for you to use the manual pump,,,you would already know that you water in the bilge...so,,,go manual to see that it is working,,because they do go,,,and at the worst of times i can attest..number 1 rule,,start it before you leave home base,,nothing worse than launching,,,and it won't start,,,
,number 2,,,put drain plugs in before you leave,,,on your way up the ramp,,,stop,,and remove the drain plugs,,,so that will tell you if have some water intrusion
Number 3,,,don't suck in a rope
Number 4,,,be careful of whom you let drive it!!?,,the friends are the ones who reck them.
Number 5,,,don't start in shallow water so that you don't suck up a rock into your prop
I could give you my 10,,,but these will suffice,,,,you will make your own top ten as you ride,

Do you know if I can install a stereo and speakers on the Sportster? I saw same one for sale with a stereo on the left side of the steering column. Didn’t see where the speakers were.

As soon as you put the boat on the trailer, turn the battery switch to OFF. The battery will drain before your next mission if you don't.

I’d like to install a depth finder on the Seadoo Sportster LE DI. Any suggestions?

And the extra battery can power your depth finder,,,new boats out there now have solar charging panels,,,worth investigating!
