Unfortunately we just sucked up the tow rope on our 1998 challenger. I was able to remove the rope without issue, but have noticed the blue plastic sheath that's around it did suffer some damage. What issues will this cause? Not exactly sure what it does. 20200704_181701.jpeg20200708_174813.jpeg20200708_174808.jpegImage.jpeg

Just remove it. Deep the pump out, driveshaft it, in clip it from the thru hull fitting and carefully yank it out. They usually have a dab of silicone holding it in. They great when the rope wraps around it, but they're trash afterwards.

Ok, but leaving it how it is won't be bad? I just won't get any protection from ropes?

No, it will be horrible. You'll get cavitation from the water going past the blue protector. It's gotta go. I took mine off eons ago
