I finally was able to take my 1999 challenger out of storage only to find that there is quite a bit of oil in one of the cylinders on my fully rebuilt port side engine!!!!
I am wondering if any one has ever isolated the RV cavity oil lines from the oil tank and tried to use the "blue devil oil stop leak" additive to swell and repair the center crank seal?

Nope. Pull the engine apart, and check it propery.

BUT... you may find that the leak is slow. So... once cleared... it may be fine until it sits for a long time again.

i am aware of the garbage failing center seals that continuously get worse over time...........both of my engines did this. now i only have less than a season into this "platinum" rebuild and it is starting again!!
if all else on this engine is brand new then why shouldn't i consider trying the blue devil stop seal stuff?

this engine was rebuilt last winter. the rebuild was supposed to include pressing the crank apart and putting all new seals, inner and outer. i have been using mystic jt4 full synthetic pwc oil...shouldnt be that much oil leaking past with only about a half season of use on new seals!!

Well, did you contact the rebuilder? If so what did they say? Does it have a no fault warranty? Who was the builder?

Full bore of Michigan.
Yes there is a warranty.
Planning on contacting them if I have an oil problem in a week or two....as it did clear the oil quickly and ran great.

I would contact them so u can send the engine back to them in the off season. I am still waiting for my 2 engines they have been there since October. They tell me now first week of june but they been telling me dates since april.

I wouldn't wait. I would call them asap and find out a game plan. Your crazy if you don't plant the seed now.

I gave them this engine in the fall of 2014 and they gave me the run-around until about the end of July or August!!! I am not looking forward to trying to negotiate with them!
I personally would rather make a cash settlement with them and not hand them this engine again...might not get it back.
They rebuilt the other 787 back in 2012 with no issues. Did great work and in a timely fashion... Runs great to this day! But lately upon looking around the web I find there are quite a few people 'in the same boat' as you and I.
Good luck man!!

I've always wondered if any of you guys who send you stuff out to get rebuilt mark the cases, cylinders etc.... to see if you actually get YOUR stuff back? I see a lot of rebuilds pics posted with no serial plates on them. Makes me wonder if you actually get you stuff back. I mean, I build all my own stuff and leave the tags on. I tape them off for bead blasting and painting. It takes all of 2 minutes with masking tape and an exacto knife, so it's not brain surgery. Maybe Fullbore does, I don't know if they leave the tag on or not.

I see why people go to sbt get in in like 1 week. I tired ses and he up held the warranty twice. Just took a little long the last time for me but I know they get behind I just think they all take on to much work for a small shop. I would rather be told 6 months than tell me different dates. I am just glad my engines are still good I am just getting 2 spares done to be pro active because of the age.

I wish I had two spare engines that would be great! And yes fullbore does save the tags on each engine so you are certain you are getting your case back...
Took the family out on the challenger today and she ran like a champ! I go out of town for the week, so I'll see what if any oil seeps in in the next five days.
