blown seadoo engine, please help

I just bought this thing with only 20 hrs on it. used it couple of times, and engine is blown. I don't have any experience with fixing jet ski engines. all i know when i opened the cylinder heads one side is totally scorched. i can tell
you one cylinder is totally blown, the cylinder head one side is totaly ruined.
there reason i am posting this note is to know is it better to buy a used or reconditioned engine and how much should i spend, or have it repaired. how much would it cost to repair a half blown engine. i have a 2000 seadoo gtx
rotax engine, millenium edition.if you can help me, i greatly appreciated.

welcome to the seadoo forum Alex. Do you have someone that can repair your doo? Ask them if they can tell what caused the problem. You could get the engine replaced for less than $800.00 but you have to pull out the old engine, swap out parts from the old to the new engine and send the old one back as a core, in like 10 days. The old one might be repaired cheaper but you have to get a mechanic you trust to look it over and evaluate the problem and repair it. Here is the replacement company's web site...
