1800 challenger port engine runs like crap. wont rev up also sounds like it is missing. Came to find out the charging fuse is blown and when I try to replace it, it blows automatically. So I unplugged harness from engine put new fuse in and soon as I plug harness back into engine it blows. Does any one know where my electrical problem may be. Thanks.....

Rectifier/regulator....

Remove the rectifier/regulator from your other engine, dis-connect the one on the engine in question and give it a try.

The fuse is to protect your system from a ground in your magneto or a bad rectifier. So, try replacing the rectifier/regulator with your good motor and see what you get.

That's the benefits of a twin engine model.........

switched rectifier

I switched rectifier from good engine still blowing the same fuse. Whats that mean bad magneto?
