Bleeding the oil lines

About to bleed the oil lines but where the oil pump is on my 787 I am a little hesitant about climbing in and holding the whatchamacallit open until oil lines fill.

Just wondering if a guy could just reach in an pull the cable where it attached to the carb. It's pretty accessible while the airbox is off and would give me a little more comfort in not climbing into the bilge.

Just hang over the top and reach in. You'd have to disconnect the cable to do it the other way, just pulling on it might pull it out of the cable guide on the carb.

I've grabbed them with a hook on the end of a stiff wire before. Just be very careful the inner control wire isn't bent or damaged and the wire doesn't slip out of it's guide.

ie: Always double check operation in mirror afterward before buttoning things up, never assume "mission accomplished" prematurely when it some to boats and watercraft. It's easy to damage the cable if it slips off the guide.
