I believe i've drained most of the water out of the engine from a flooded hull. Now that i was able to get it running i noticed that the exhaust water is like black goo. It did seam to thin out after running for sometime but would increase to black and i rev'd it.

Is this normal? it was thick enough that it left a nasty pool and the end of the driveway.

could this come from water in the crankcase and if so how would i drain it to replace?

Pull the dipstick and see what the oil looks like. If it's milky looking, like frothy chocolate milk, you most likely have water in the oil.

Dipstick???? This is a two stroke. No crankcase oil.

Lou

Well shows what I am used to... can't say as I knew the two strokes didn't have crankcase oil... never worked on one in a seadoo. Motorcycles have it.. but then they have a gear box. Sorry man, just trying to help. Lesson learned. I'll head back over tot he 4-stroke section now.

i saw dipstick and for a split second i was like... "omfg, we have a dipstick on these engines ? and I had no idea all these years !"

caught me off guard there lol

Your talking out of the drain plug right? It's probably sludge from a leaky oil tank gromet. Feel the oil tank bottom where the hose is connected and see if your hand comes back with oil on it. Also check the dip stick. :o The oil tank dip stick and make sure it's full. You could have oil leaking at the pump also, it doesn't take much. It could be mixed with fuel also to goooo it up so to speak.

First of all thanks for the info. Except i just spent hours looking for the dip stick, JK

Now i had this thing hooked up to the garden hose and the black nasty water was coming from the exhast pipe. The bottom of the hull looks pretty good and clean. The drain plugs have been open and i didnt have any water coming from those or any additional in the hull.

oh yea, i still have a nice black puddle mark at the end of the driveway and yes, i smelled it. Smelled only a bit like oil.

im just wondering if i burned it up to the point of craking something. My daughter ran it without the temp sensor in the top of the engine until enough water shot out the top of the engine to fill the hull..

145/150 psi on each cyclinder.

What happens if enough water gets below the pistons past the rings. Can that even happen?
