Biodegradable Oil

I have to admit I am feeling guilty for having a 2-stroke "polluter." I have been researching biodegradable oils and wondering if anyone here has any first hand experience?

G-OIL has a lot of "green" marine products. I searched the forums for "G-OIL" and came up blank, hasn't anyone tried their products? STIHL HP Ultra appears to be an excellent product, but the price is SHOCKING. Nicolube NL 210, EnviroLogic 440, Motil Bio 2T. Corn, soy beans, animal fat... who knows what is best.

Not sure I want to be the first to test these products.
 
The only oil that MAY work is caster oil. All other oils aren't going to protect a Rotax engine. They just make too much HP for their size.

But regardless of the make-up... oils pollute. That's why you can't send old fry oil to the landfill.

If you feel that guilty... buy a 4 stroke.
 
My research continues, I will eventually decide on a biodegradable oil to use. I am hoping to find an oil that meets both API TC and JASO FD standards.

G-OIL by Green Earth Technologies claims to meet or exceed both of these standards, but it is not listed as a certified (filed) oil on the JASO site (as of Aug 1, 2012). The only 2 biodegradable oils I find listed on the JASO site as FD are EvoShield by Amyris and Envirologic 440 by Terresolve.

If anyone else can add something I would appreciate it.

Note about JASO:

Japeneese motorcycle manufacturers found the limits demanded by the API TC specifications too loose. Oils meeting the API TC standard still produced excessive smoke and could not prevent exhaust blocking. Therefore the Japanese Engine Oil Standards Implementation Panel (JASO) introduced the following specifications:

JASO FA
Original spec established regulating lubricity, detergency, initial torque, exhaust smoke and exhaust system blocking.

JASO FB
Increased lubricity, detergency, exhaust smoke and exhaust system blocking requirements over FA.

JASO FC
Lubricity and initial torque requirements same as FB, however far higher detergency, exhaust smoke and exhaust system blocking requirements over FB.

JASO FD
Same as FC with far higher detergency requirement.

All I can say is to try it.

To get a true JASO or API cert is expensive... so most companies won't pay for it.
