Bimini Top Mounting

Ive been checking out a few tops for my Challenger but noticed i might run into some issues with the mounting hardware. After viewing some members photos I noticed the kit I want doesn't allow for side mounting. I prefer this option to ensure I don't have lever clearance issues. My question is, are the end points of the poles interchangeable? Also, Im going with Hydrotuff Navy Blue set up. Are most Navy Blue tops truly that color or should I consider a traditional Blue for a better color match? Thanks guys!
