Bilge Pump

I am thinking about installing an electric bilge pump on my 1996 XP, after looking I can’t find any post on a good location to install an exit place for the pump. I really do not want to drill a hole in the hull if I can help it and was thinking about making a small hole in the rubber exhaust hose right before it exits and running the pumps exit hose out there. Would this cause any problems? If so where is a better place to run the exit hose? Thanks

are you really taking on that much water that you need it? that the stock baffle tubes cant keep up?

A lot of owners use a bilge pup to empty their seadoo. I prefer to have a hose fitting out the side of the doo so you can see it working. You will have to cut a hole in the fiberglass though.

its not a matter if he is taking on lots of water right now, its the fact that if you ever have an emergancy it is there to help the bail out....

Why are you afraid to drill a hole in the fibrglass?

Yeah it is more for peace of mind, not so much that I am taking on water. I have not worked with fiberglass and do not want to mess anything up. Thanks for the replies.

Hi, I was thinking about adding an electric bilge to my old 90 SP as well.... I lost a coolant line and was out pretty far on the water. Had water just about up to the carb before I realized, and the stock pumps didnt keep up at all.

How much strain would an electric bilge put on the battery? Will the rectifier put out enough power to keep the battery charged, or should I add a second battery? Last thing I want is to use the electric bildge (in an emergence situation), and have it kill the battery and not be able to get the ski to start again.

The magneto will have enough power to run a bilge pump and charge the battery.
