So we took the ol' boat out today for my first time on it. Do the 96 speedster coolect a little water by your feet. It seemed to have water in it unless we were moving then it was fine. There is a drain hole by my foot which I assume is to the pump. At the back were one of the water exiting ports is, there seems to be a seal/cover that looks like it supposed to stop water from coming but let water crain if needed. My 2 questions are, by my foot there is a hole, is that hole supposed to be plug then you unplug it when needed or always open. Also if the seal on the back goes bad does replacing it stop water from breach the hull?

Thanks

Yes The problem is at the back of the boat. It needs a new scupper valve. there is a new type out there that is a good replacement for the old one. the replacement has more screw holes than the old type and allso has a ball in it but it still works. You just use the holes that you need. I just put one in I allso used a thin layer of sillicone on both sides of new one. I am not sure if sillicone was needed but I used it any way the old style is out there allso you can buy either at west marine. I had the same problem as you and this was the fix. good luck Robin
