I have a 97 GSI that I would like to add a bilge pump to. I have learned that Seadoo did have a kit at one time. They seem to be discontinued and unavailable as NOS.

Can anyone offer advice as to any current kits that could work or assembling the parts to do it myself?

I see that Rule has a kit. Not sure how it all goes together but I assume it connects directly to the battery? It seems to have a switch that mounts to the handle bar?

Any advice on automatic versus manual pump?

Anything else I should know, places I can look for how tos?

Thanks!

think any marine shop, also thought saw some at wal-mart. Install far back in ski, maybe rig some kind of aluminum plate housing..then I'd hook toggle to it, be manually....

I just posted a DIY for a bilge pump in my 96 HX http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?t=7374

Seadoo's option included a relay at the MPEM so you aren't wiring the pump directly to the power supply of the computer. Tapping off the control supply would damage the MPEM. So a relay allows the pump to be enabled with the lanyard on while protecting the MPEM.

For my setup I hardwired a switch to the battery. This allows the pump to run without the lanyard if necessary. And it is just plain simpler even if it is not idiot-proof.

In my 96 XP I used one that was bigger than the one in the picture above. Actually, it is the same as the one in my Challenger. Bought it from West or Academy, don't remember which. I pulled out my bailer boots, and 2-part epoxied the pump to the floor underneath the holddown spring for the bailer. Drilled a hole by my foot, and ran the line up to that hole (way above water line, plus I can feel the water coming out onto my leg and can tell when it is done pumping without having to look and take my eyes off the driving). My electric VTS no longer worked so I wired it into those buttons.

I followed JPX's advice from the thread he mentions above...
