Forgot Bilge Drain Plugs - engine noise while flushing

It's just the 2nd time of driving my new seadoo and i forgot to put in the bilge drain plugs. I drove for about an hour in the sea. By the way I have those new ones withe the balls.
When I flushed the engine it made horrible noise after 1 minute so i shut down the water and turned off the enigine,, it smelled a little.
What the **** did I do wrong that it made the noise??? It didn't have to do with the drain plugs right? Do you think I did damage the engine seriously,, it's a supercharged...:(:(

Knave, what cha got? Make, Model, Year? If you rode it for an hour with those plugs out you probably got a lot of water in the hull. Describe the noise a little more so we can figure this out.

ok so the seadoo is no longer in the water and i rinsed it with a water hose.. So the "forgot drain plug thing" is no longer a prob?

Have a 07 RXT. The noise was going louder and than started to like creaking? I pulled the gas shortly before that. But I imediately shutted down the water. And then the engine. I saw a little bit of smoke coming out of the back of the seadoo...

Yeah even if you did it's a closed loop system cooling, Would be almost impossible to get salt water in your engine. Take a look around intake grate or impeller. Make sure nothing is binding the jet pump shaft or anything inside the pump.

What I should maybe mention...what could have also done some damage to the engine... the jetski dropped today,,, with me on it and the jetski lift into the water because the cable broke... we were maybe 1 feet over the water...

this one (fruit of the mangroves) somehow managed to get into the jet.. just took a look into the jet outlet / impeller? And found this fruit.. there's still some stuff in there.. can i just flush it from the outside with a hose by targeting the jet outlet? I dont know is there maybe still stuff in there which i cant see??

If your being serious then take the jet pump off and pull all that stuff out of there. Never seen one of them before.

kay gotta check how it's done. The smell by the way seemed to be the plastic of the jet outlet. But you think there isn't any serious damage? Do you think i should perhaps consult a mechanic?

If it's real bad you might have some wear ring damage a you'll lose a some power in the water. If you wanna just do yourself just join here as a "premium" member. You get access to all seadoo shop manuals that will give you step by step procedures on anything you want to know about your model. Also premium members get first dibs on all question no matter how bug they are. Somebody will find an answer to it always.
