Just posting in the event someone else has this problem...there is lots of info out there about proper grounding and power supply lines running adjacent to speaker wires that can create noise in your speakers but if after checking all that...don't forget to simply check for loose connections. Mine turned out to be a loose RCA connection from the amp to the head unit. I discovered it by unplugging the black and read RCA cables one at a time from the amp. When I unplugged the black RCA cable from the amp, the noise went away. Found the loose connection where it connects to the head unit. Still not sure how that problem resulted in feedback from the bilge blower but I'm okay with a little mystery if all is well!
