bigger motor in 1994 xp

i just bought a 94 seadoo xp. the motor needs to rebuilt. not sure what the extent of the damage is yet. but i wanted to know if i could just drop in a newer xp motor with minimal modifications like the 720 or 800cc. just wondering whats possible to make it faster but reliable as well.

Check the oem #'s on your electricals, then check out on same ski w/ bigger motor, see if some if not all electrical parts have same #/s, if not, you'll need to replace with new #....stator, rectifier, mpem, solenoid, coil,
