Hey everyone. I am brand new to PWC. I have rode some on my buddies but I am planning on buying my first PWC. I was justing wanting some of y'all opinions.

I want a sea-doo that will be able to pull a tube with no problem. The majority of the time I am out on the water with some friends usually tubing. I was just wondering:

Which sea-doo can pull a tube and still get up to a good top speed?

a gsx 800 will be great since it has a trim system and plenty of balls to do it but really anything over an 800 will do just fine unless you want to slingshot your tuber in to space. I was pulled behind a yamaha 1200 the other day and OMG I felt like hulk hogan picked me up and bodyslammed me over and over then kept throwing me from side to side against a brick walllllll >>>>>>>>>>>> believe me an 800 will be fine its all you need trust me !!!!!!!!!!! your out to have fun not to murder

yeah its made by seadoo i have a 97 they are nice and comfy and have vts (a trim system) so they will do all you need and they are easy to work on you cant beat a ROTAX engine for durability and reliability

I have a 2010 GTX 155 and this past weekend got a new SeaDoo 2 person tube for my kids. The only issue I had was the tube at slower speeds would dig into the water and almost nose dive nocking the kids off. You had to get it at a higher speed. It seemed like I had the have the rope tied up higher. Has anyone seen this? Also what should be the correct length of rope to tow behind? The one I bought was super long and made it seem like the tube was a mile behind us. not sure what the correct length should be. Looking for any experience and help!

Thanks

there is no set length i believe but i am almost positive that the tube diving is caused by the rope being to long. If the rope is too long it will stap partially underwater at slow speeds and make the tube dive...... I had the same prob and i just shortened the rope to about 30 feet or so and i was fine. Those are not exact measurments just a guess so play it by ear to be safe

I think any seadoo will tow a tube just fine

I had a 96 GTI, it towed 2 kids and an adult (which is illegal in most states, so dont do it :) ) on a banana boat tube just fine.

I now have a 2011 GTI 130 and it tows fine also. The main difference with the new one is I can better control the pull out when they water ski and wake board. The old one didnt have as much pep pulling them out.

Have fun and be safe!

do you still have a place to ride? from what i saw on the news tonight, all your lakes are drying up

I recently purchased 2 2000 seadoo GTX's (947). They pull a tube and a knee board great! I recently purchased a 50' rope and haven't had any issues with the tube diving yet. I did have a shorter rope and the water jet put out by the jet ski hit the person on the tube which is why I went longer. 50' seems to be a good length. But I'm pretty new to jet skis and have only been out 4 times so far but have had a blast so far!

things to remember:

rope length of 75 feet is as long as i go. i use a 65 usually.

in my area (illinois) you must have a driver, a spotter, and a place on the PWC for the person(s) attached to the rope

i have an RXP, and my buddy wont even try tubing on the private lake. he knows i can skip him like a rock even without him on a tube

trim systems will give you the ability to keep the nose of the ski down while towing. i know my ski likes to pop the nose at 15mph with the trim up, but seems to be less prominent with the trim down.

if i had to choose one for tubing, DEPENDING on budget..... (current budget=broke= late 90's gsx) (unknown budget=get what you want=Seadoo Wake)

DO NOT opt for the RXT.... nobody will even want to tube. trust me. :ugh:
