I wanted to put the best oil in my 2015 GTR-215. With a little research found a Service bulletin by Amsoil. Marine 10W-40. They said that the supercharger clutches slip less in this oil. Here is a link to read the pdf.

The slippage is inevitable but Amsoil makes a great product. You can check the slippage yourself with a few simple tools as well. Only thing specialized that you need is the gear holding tool.

That service bulletin is so old though. How do you know they didn't change the formula? I asked amsoil technical if their oil now contains friction modifiers and they wouldn't give me a straight answer. Being that its a marine oil for all different engines i don't see a reason why they wouldn't use friction modifiers. I may go with their motorcycle oil that meets the JASO MA2 cert but haven't decided yet. Still waiting to see if i can get a straight answer.

SeaDoo doesn't use ceramic washers anymore and haven't since 2007. I wouldn't use that bulletin as any basis of what to use.
SeaDoo now uses semi-synthetic and it has proven to be a great oil straight from the factory. Remember, when you change your oil, you only get 3 qts out and it is a 5 qt system so 2 qts are left behind every time you change your oil so you'll be mixing oils when you change.

So you use the xps oil for all your skis? I heard its just Castrol actevo re-branded. Any truth to that? I just picked up a GTR 230 and am wondering what to change it to at 10hrs. Will admit I drank the Amsoil cool aid a while ago. use it in everything once a year oil changes for the truck the last 3 years cant beat it.

Yes, I use BRP oil. It is made by Castrol but not sure if it is a special formulation specifically for them or just rebranded. At any rate, it is a proven oil for SeaDoos. It is more expensive but I don't understand people who spend $10k plus on a watercraft and then cheapout to save $20 or less when they change the oil when it can affect the function of their high dollar machine.

Not saying Amsoil is bad product. I know they make good oil but I'm not personally convinced it has been proven in SeaDoos but I'm sure others will disagree. I am only going by personal experience with BRP oil over the last 25 years and the countless machines I've used them in. I don't want to start the great oil debate over again because it goes nowhere.
