Picked up one of those cooper anchors a month or so ago and have used it now multiple times in sand and rock and I love it. It's small and make of composite so it won't scratch or bang around and it's not super heavy so not a bunch of dead weight. It will flip itself over when in the water and for rivers and lakes it's amazing holds great every time! I don't ski in the ocean so I can't speak to it's effectiveness there but if your in the market for something diff recommend this one. I have the blue 2.2 lbs
