Hey all - still researching which seadoo boat I should get.
Definitley looking at a speedster (I don't like the sportster seat config, where the driver sits in one of the back seats). So I guess I'm looking for a speedster 150/160/200. I think I want around the 2002-2008 model year range. I also think the challenger line is bigger/heavier than I'm really looking for
So from what I've seen...there are single engine models with 150hp/155hp/210hp/215hp, and then the same hp models in dual engine configs (obviously with twice the hp total). Are there just two options of engines for the speedster, or are there more? If they made a V6 Mercury powered speedster, is that a good option?
I am interested in taking 4+ people around with a ski or tube, so I think I want a dual engine set up...but I don't think I want SC (maintenance + more possibilities for failures).
So the bottom line question: For the speedster series, what engine should I be looking for as far as reliability and availability of replacement parts?
...also let me know if my thinking is correct in avoiding the SC models (for maintenance and more points of failure reasons), and that a twin NA setup will be plenty get up and go.
