Best Anchor Type for 210 SP

Looking for recommendations on best anchor for our 2012 210SP ?? One that fits the front compartment the best?

The one I initial bought isnt heavy enough plus probably the wrong style as we are drifting. The lake we go to is mostly a sand bottom.

Thanks for the input !!

Danforth is hands down the best. But can be harder to store. Cooper is a very good second choice and is plastic so it stores easier.

I'm by no means an anchoring expert, but here's what I've learned:

1) Danforth anchors work fine, used properly
2) I have a 4 ft. heavy chain connected to the shank of the anchor. This will give the anchor rope weight to drag along the bottom so that the anchor is fully laid down to bite into the bottom.
3) I let out 4-5 ft of rope for each ft of depth. Again, I want the chain and the shank dragging the bottom.
4) I idle backwards until it catches on the bottom and get some tension it, then shut off the engines and tie it off on the front cleat.

You may have already tried these tips; but, if not, hope it helps.

Here is a pic of the anchor in the front locker.

I can get measurements if you need them.

Thanks guys for the tips guys

....so thanks what those black plastic holders are for. I think I solved for the style now. What weight of Danforth anchor...10 pounds ?

Quick edit, I just found a Marine Slip-ring Anchor #7 setup with 50' rope and 4' chain for $60 Canadian shipped to me off Amazon. Is 7# adequate?? Or should I go #10 Slip-ring anchor ??

All great tips, exactly what I do never had a problem. At times they can be rather difficult to remove at least in our mud bottom lake.

I boat in canyons with very deep water. It is not unusual for us to anchor in 75' of water. I tried different anchors before settling on a Box Slide Anchor.

It is totally different than a Danforth. Even with the deep water we anchor in we do not drag the anchor. It is heavy, and a bit of a pain to store, but it works for me.

Just something to consider.
