Battery

I just installed an Optima D27M AGM dual purpose starting and deep cycle marine battery in my 99 Sportster 1800, only time will tell if it was a good choice.

Are deep cycle/dual purpose batteries hard for the stators to recharge??

No. BUT, the output of the Rotax engines is relatively low. So, running big batteries will take a while to recharge.

Anytime I set up a full sized battery (or duals) on a Rotax boat... I tell the owner to charge the batteries before any outings. That way, you don't have to worry.

Makes sense, will a battery tender work instead of charging each time?

Yes. And it won't fry the battery in the process. The good ones put a load on the battery once it gets charged and then trickles it back up.

Optima blue 34M here and an on/off isolator switch. I've got a amp and sub in my boat and I play the hell out of it for hours......no issues so far.
