battery vent line

I am installing my battery in my 2007 Seadoo GTI and looking at the shop manual and it tells to connect red first then black and make sure the vent line is clear.... what is a vent line??

There is a small outlet on the battery that a small tube connects to - it vents off the fumes caused by charging. It is located on the same side that the + terminal is located on the top of battery - in the center facing down. Hope this helps.

Vent tube....

All new batteries come with a new vent line. These lines are used with ATV's and motorcycles. You should not use this.

Your ski came with an independant line that connects to it and vents the fumes outside the hull. You need to find this original line and connect it back to the battery. You do not want any of that acid spilling into your hull while catching air or the vapor condensing on your metal parts of the engine.
