Hey guys,

newbie questions. I recently purchased a battery tender from amazon, and as the battery is a really tight fit in the seadoo challenger and difficult to get out, i was thinking of connecting the tender directly to the battery while it is still connected. Do i connect the negetive to the negetive and the positive to the positive?

Thanks in advance

Yes. But only if the tender is 2.5 amps or lower. And NEVER attach the key/lanyard when the tender is on. It can smoke the MPEM.

Buy a good battery and install a main isolation switch in the boat you should never have any issues with starting afterwards for the life of the battery and it's the only safe way to go, wiring any outside source of voltage to the battery and the MPEM is asking for it with these boats.

Bottom line is you have no control over what the power company sends into your distribution panel and subsequently whatever outlets things are plugged into, a low amp tender isn't going to stop a voltage spike from the AC side taking out your MPEM if it happens.

Not worth the risk considering the cost of a used MPEM, if you can find one.
