Can anyone tell me the trick to get the battery straps secrued on the battery.

There is darn little space to get a hand in there; and I already figured out that I drop lots of terminal bolts. I have spent hours feeling around the bilge for those things.

But gettting the strap in place is basically impossible. I try to secure it by placing foam on the top and wedging it somewhere; but that is not so good when someone rides agressively.

The placement and the system sucks. Is there some trick other than using my daughter's smaller hands? She is grown now.

remove your battery and attached the back side first, tape it there if you have to, then put the battery back in and attach the front of the straps, I have a 2000 gtx and the an exhaust box is directly above it, so you may have to remove that box to get to it better.

on my 97 xp i just slide the strap back there, until i feel it hook then i pull up. I don't even use my hands

run the straps around the side of the battery and hook them on then slide them up over the sides of the battery.

or

cut a groove in a large flat head screw driver
