Battery Rundown time...

I have them in my boat, wondering how long I could sit with the radio on without geting stranded, I have a basic system, Pioneer deck, 2 6x9 speakers, would like to put in 2 more, how long ya think you could run the stereo at a moderate volume before not having enough to crank the motors..

The big questions is what kind of power does the stereo draw? I have a Low Rider show truck with a 1000 watt stereo...it kills both 24 series batteries in it in 35 minutes!

Most stereo's use 25 watts but if you have a amp it will draw much more. If you have a switch that can draw from either battery or both at the same time it won't be a problem. The 2 way switch is a good way to go. switch it to (1) for starting.than to (2) when sitting listening to stereo. When you leave switch it back to (1) to start.
