Battery Mounting

I was checking out my battery yesterday looking at how it was mounted. I noticed that the mount goes through a piece of fiber that I can't get to. If I were to mount a second battery how would I go about getting it secured? Is it a special type of bolt or what?

I too been looking at a solution. I am thinking about removing my intake grate up/down motor. I don't use it anyway. You can drill into the fiberglass (decking) and epoxy studs in place OR use a self taping screw to secure the batter holder to the decking.

I bought a battery tray to fit the size battery I was to install with the tie downs. Used liquid nails and stainless self tapping screws and the rest is history. Since I owned a 2008 180 the battery fit next to and to the rear of the factory battery. For pictures of this install look for "Challenger upgrade pictures".......posted 2-18-15. I also added a Perko two battery switch and of course cables. Been in rough seas and the batteries have stayed in place.

I noticed there is a nice area behind the factory battery. That is where I would put #2.

Red rocket....did you not read my post? Go back a few pages to the date I posted which is 2-18-2015 and see the picture I already posted under post title, "Challenger upgrade pictures." There is space behind the factory battery for a second battery and that is where I installed mine.

Did you mean me? I read both of the replies. I wanted to see how to screws were done compared to liquid nail.
