I have my battery on a trickle charger but it doesn't seem to be fully charging. I have a Yuasa charger which has a light to show a status of charging and a different light to show a status of storage. The battery doesn't seem to get to the storage state even though it did earlier this year. The battery shouldn't be bad but that may be a possibility. The battery is a Yuasa battery and I don't think its a year old. It didn't get much use last year. Do I need to add water to the battery? I hope that the battery isn't bad.

It could also be your trickle charger. Batteries should last about 5 years, so it's unlikely to be bad unless it was sitting around the shop for a long time before being sold. Check the voltage across the terminals while it's being charged; if it doesn't read at least 13 volts, there's a problem. Your battery charge should be at least 12.5 volts after a full charge. Good luck.
