hi all, im wanting to put an automatic ballast system in my challenger 180 but am unsure on going about it. I know that the wake model boats come with a ballast system already in them but i have never seen one in person. are they metal or some kind of plastic or vinyl? can anyone give me a picture of a system that they have or are using in their boat. the 150 pound tractor weights are getting int the way in my boat:)

ive checked out the fat sack brand of ballasts but i wasnt sure how much different they are from the manufactures system.

if anyone does have a ballast system, how much weight is it and where is the weight?

thanks in advance!

Hey there,

I am actually looking into the same thing as I have a 98 Challenger 1800... Not sure where to really put them in side the boat other then on the floor and just fill and empty them as needed for wake boarding.

There are a few companies out there but a few of the biggest ones are FatSac's by FlyHigh or there's also the Launch Pad's by Straightline

The Launch Pad products are a bit more budget based as far as price but they appear to be very popular as well as the FatSac's... I am looking at getting some of them to put on the floor as we don't have a tower, we are pulling off a pylon that I designed. My question is how much ballast can we safely put in the boat? I know many other boats they really load up with as much as 1500lbs or more but those are usually the big name wake boats etc. However, even the old nautique 2001 models people are putting over a 1000 lbs into those so I would think the seadoo's could be loaded pretty heavy as well.

Anyone have any success stories using ballast with their seadoo? I'm reasearching a bit more bnow but there don't seem to be too many out there that are wakeing with seadoo's...naturally they aren't the "ideal" wakeboarding boat, but I think with a little tweaking it could throw a very respectable wake.

Thoughts???
