Ok I know you guys dont like to talk fuel injection but heres what happened today. Key was not plugged in. I was messing around my rear elec box trying to secure the lid. I decided to put a small bungee around the whole box and lid. While I was doing this I heard a loud pop in the front of the engine area and notice smoke coming from my forward fuel injector. The smoke kept pouring out so I quickly disconected the bat. After examining some things I noticed I blew my 15 amp fuel inj fuse on the computer. Well i put the key in and now when I pressure up the system my injector is leaking fuel out of the side of it what looks like a hole that was melted in it.

My fear now is I buy a new 180 dollar injector and I dont know if this will happen again. what could I have done near the rear box that would have done this to the injecter side of things without the key in

Thanks for any help
Hank

That's a tough one. As you know... the real question is... where is the real problem?

As said... you could have shorted a wire, but a short like that will most likely cook the computer too.

I would hook the battery back up, replace the fuse, and check to see if you are still getting 12v at your injector plug. If you are... follow the wires back, and make sure you didn't cut the wires behind the box. If they are good... then the injector drivers have shorted out. (need a new computer)

Unfortunately, this is why we recommend staying away from the injected boats/skis. It's hard to diagnose over the Internet, and a computer, and a new injector may get close to the "Value" of the ski.

My personal feelings are... the injector is not the problem... it is just the casualty of the problem.
