Bad day!... Wouldnt crank and then...........

Ok so heres how my 2nd weekend with my new love (96 GSX) started! After loading up the truck with all the grill goodies and tube i threw the Ski on to the hitch and tried to start her..put the key on..2 beeps and the guages light up..press the start button...NOTHING not a tick, click or knock.

1st thing I did was check my connections, everything good took the battery to Auto parts store and sure enough 12V..So then I realized I needed a battery tender. so instead I bought a battery charger haha charged up the battery for 30 min and BAM she fires right up.....

So we finally get to the lake and about 3/4 of a tank of fuel later, we go to switch out drivers and the part that the key pushes onto pushes inside my handlebars! so there we are stranded on the side of the lake about 1/2 mile from the boat ramp. So withj our limited expertise we cut the hole that it was in a little bigger, enough to grab it n put the key on to get it to the boat ramp.

So now I have my diagrams open on how to fix this lil problem! if anyone has any knowledge on this please drop a line in this thread! But man prior to that happpening what a good day with that TUBE!

So the area the lanyard goes to is too big? Patch it with fiberglass mesh same size as the hole re-drill the hole and fit the lanyard back in. It should't be that big of a deal.

That sounds good to me! Ill try that but oh yea to add insult to injury! the galss bubble on my info gauge popped off! do they even have a part # for just the cover? GRRRRR
